New Jersey Soars to Success in Atlanta
| Congratulations New Jersey Future Business Leaders of America! At this year's National Leadership Confernece in Atlanta, Georgia, NJ rocked the house with state record-breaking successe. Most notably, thirty-nine New Jersey students placed in the top ten positions in competitive events. Additionally, six of these event winners reached the upper echelon of achievement by placing first in their competitive event. Accordingly, New Jersey FBLA members garnered several thousand dollars in college scholarships from their accomplishments. Nicole Maione, the former NJ FBLA Central Region Vice President, New was awarded a full tuition scholarship to Johnson and Wales University. To add to New Jersey’s success in Atlanta, our state received: Business Person of the Year award, second in our region for the recruitment of new chapters, fifth place in State Chapter Business Report, third in the nation for state fundraising, second in the nation for individual chapter fundraising, and a $1,000 grant to a New Jersey high school to finance fundraising endeavors for the March of Dimes. | |  |
| In addition to the significant competitve event achievments, the NLC was marked with two campaign victories. Paul M. Cohen, the current NJ FBLA State President was elected as the FBLA Eastern Region Vice President. Eric Weinberg, the NJ State Vice President of PBL, won his campaign for PBL Eastern Region Vice President. For the first time in New Jersey FBLA-PBL history, New Jersey will host two national officers in the high school and college divisions. | |  |
In the end, New Jersey FBLA experienced an amazing conference marked by the election of two FBLA-PBL national officers from NJ, a record-breaking number of award recipients, thousands in scholarships, and extraordinary accomplishment for all in attendance. National Leadership Conference is Fast Approaching
Hello New Jersey FBLA! The FBLA-PBL 2008 National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Georgia is fast approaching. For those attending the Institute for Leaders before NLC, best of luck with your learning experience. For everyone else attending the general National Leadership Conference, best wishes for a successful conference. Membership Vice President Position
4/15/08 - The New Jersey Executive Board is now seeking applications for the vacant Membership Vice President position. Any interested candidates should complete the officer application form and resume and submit it to the New Jersey FBLA State Office by Monday, May 5, 2008. In addition, the candidate should provide answers to the questions contained in the first attachment. NJ FBLA Webmaster Application
The application for New Jersey FBLA State Webmaster for 2008-2009 is now available. Here is a quick preview of the Webmaster's responsibilities: The primary role of the New Jersey FBLA State Webmaster is to manage the NJ FBLA website. The website requires constant maintenance, as it serves as a crucial communication tool for New Jersey FBLA. The Webmaster must be responsive to changes and updates submitted by the State Chairwoman, Educational Specialist, and State Officers. The management of the local chapters area, maintenance of new content, and administration of the message boards are some of the responsibilities of the State Webmaster. The Webmaster must be able to develop new ideas for the website and prepare a Webmaster’s Report for distribution at every State Officer meeting. The newly-selected Webmaster should be able to attend the May 20, 2008 NJ FBLA State Officer meeting. Applications for State Webmaster must be submitted via postal mail to the New Jersey FBLA State Office (address included in the application) by April 15, 2008. All interested FBLA members with at least one year remaining in their business education are encouraged to apply. Penny Races Scholarship
Every year, New Jersey FBLA awards a $100 scholarship to two outstanding seniors who will attend the National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Each chapter may submit up to three students for the scholarship. The application is due by April 21, 2008. Click here to download the form (.doc).
